Release Notes for simplebim 6.0
In This Topic
Simplebim 6.0 (12.12.2016)
New Features
- New Location Editor workspace for cutting models using 3D prisms. This can be used e.g. for defining construction sections or creating cut-outs from the model. The functionality naturally also works with merged models. If one object spans multiple locations (3D prisms) it can be cut into location specific parts and the quantities are re-calculated for each part. Smart Split makes sure objects are split only in meaningful ways e.g. that walls are not split vertically along their axis or slabs horizontally.
- Property values can now be edited directly in the Properties palette. Drop-down lists are provided for text properties, either with a list of allowed values defined in validation or with values for the property from the current model.
- The layout of workspaces is saved and re-used within and between sessions. This also includes new palettes you add and dock to the workspace.
- New 'Convert to Brep' -tool. Simplifying geometry to boundary representations is useful when the receiving application is not able to correctly read advanced geometry structures from IFC.
- New 'Flatten Contained Geometries' and 'Convert Assemblies to Building Elements' tools enhance workflows with applications that don’t support Element Assemblies in their IFC import
Enhancements
- The Model Placement Editor workspace has been significantly improved. The user interface is clearer and all operations can now be undone. It is also possible to edit the longitude and latitude of the project.
